I need advice on shrinking photos.

I have a sony digi cam and can place the images onto my pc, but they are huge!

When I try to send one image via email is like 2.2meg and over fill the screen.

How can I shrink the images to normal sizes

This software is very handy.

Photoshop elements might be best for you if ur going to resize a piccie. I have seen it for sale for around £30 i think. Allows you to edit piccies as well. Tidy them up etc. I do this work myself for a laugh!

MS Paint should do it.

But you will need a better graphics program if you intend to do much editing.

Must be a good free one out there

Irfanview will allow you to resize your images and best of all it's free, Just Google "Irfanview" and download it from their site.

Hi Mark,

If you run into problems I can recommend Chris from www.retouchuk.com (on these forums)

I've used him recently for a number of difficult photo manipulation projects and he's come up trumps each time.

Good value too!

Take a look at the Gimp - http://gimp-win.sourceforge.net/

Full graphics package for free!

To do the white background pics start off by doing your shots with a white background!! You can then open in GIMP and use the tools to select the area to cut. PM me for better instructions :)

Sory for the late reply, been a bit busy as of late

I would also use irfanview for resizing its fast easy and free, I use it all the time for viewing photos.

For resize just crtl + R and set it there

I just wrote a big paragraph about white backgrounds then realised Neil had just answered it, maybe better read properly next time.

Need any help just give me a shout

p.s. Thanks for the recomendation Rob

Chris.
