I'm launching a new printing business to compliment my existing business and am looking for either outsourced telesales or a complete outsourced sales service. I am after a company that will sell my print services (busines cards, letterheads, or anything printed) to businesses. I haven't done this before so am unsure on the structure. Are there companies that do this on pay on results basis? If there are any companies on this forum please contact me.

Hi

I think you might struggle with finding a company that will do this type of thing on a results basis...also you might find that you get less quality with commission only.

Feel free to visit my website at www.mattholbrook.co.uk (http://www.mattholbrook.co.uk) for more info.

Thanks for your response. I haven't used this kind of service before so was unsure what sort of payment structure was used. I will check out your website.

I used to sell printing door to door (b2b). The amount of work needed to generate business by telephone or in person is enourmous. Try somebody commision only, I doubt they would last 3 days. Quite simply the sheer volume of the task precludes anybody working for free.

You need to keep a telemarketing company or a freelancer making at least 100 calls per day for 3 months. Most telemarketing companies including myself would charge several thousand, basic and commision mixed in. Another option would be for you to employ a telemarketer full time but good luck finding one. A good reliable telemarketer is as rare to find as hens teeth.

Finally you could knuckle down to it yourself, start work early am get those 100 calls in, eventually you would begin to build your business and be able to afford to employ a salesperson.

I hope this helps

... there's only one source to direct you to: agentbase - seek them on the web as I'm not allowed to post urls in here... yet.
You may find someone with the expertise you're looking for, chances are they may want their pound of flesh in return for their results and expertise.

As Jonathan (telemax) says it will be useful for you to begin doing the calls yourself even if you can only manage 20 per day that's still 1200 per quarter. Be sure about who you're targeting. Who relies on printing so much it hurts and who may have let those people down (by going out of business, over-promising and under-delivering etc)?

Use the Mail Sandwich technique of call, mail, call. The mail part should include something that displays not only quality but also hard reasons for considering you (the problems THEY may have that you solve). It re-iterates the fact you will call them for a response in a specific time frame (48 hours). Give them an "out" early on if they really cannot stand the thought of you talking to them a second time. Never go 'cap in hand', ask if you can bring up the subject of money early on if they ARE open to speaking with you, you'll get rid of time-wasters more readily.

Alternatively our phoneMentor course may help...

Success, Shaun

Hi

I work for a telemarketing company called Synergy Connections (http://www.synergyconnections.co.uk).

The problem with offering commission only is for the telemarketing company to work out if it is going to raise enough income. We have fixed costs for making calls (covering staff costs, support staff, computers, offices, etc), so we know we have to make £x per hour to be profitable.

If you say we could make £Y per lead (or even worse, Z% on sales), to see if we would make enough, we need to know how long it will take (in hours) to get each sale. Unless we could see good evidence from an existing campaign for your product, we cannot estiamte this accurately enough.

Even with some prior information, if you change the target market, database provider or offering it will alter the conversion. The effects of the recession and new competitors will also affect it. Sometimes, we get asked to take a percentage commission on closed sales, where the clients field sales staff close them, and that is even worse - we do not know if the field sales staff are any good, and have no control over them or their conversion of the leads we generate.

In short, there are so many variables, we cannot calculate an approximate hourly income - and so cannot even work out of the income from your telemarketing project will cover the costs. We very occasionally work on a per lead basis, but generally work on a charge per hour.
