Printer recommendations

Well it seems I've just buggered up our old Epson printer, so in the market for a new one!

Any recommendations?

Looking at:

£40/£50 price bracket
All in one - scanner, copier, fax
Decent print speed
Everyday Printing - we don't generally print photos

Hmm looks familiar, recent discussion on UKBL on printers ;)
Used to be a big fan of Epson printers but HP win for most printers imo :)

Got an HP all in one from Staples for only £29 about 3 weeks ago and it is good but eats ink.

Yankee candleman - Cheers :) preferably would rather spend a bit more on the printer, and get one that uses less ink.... will be using compatibles anyway.

In fairness, we did buy the cartridges from Staples so they were not high yield. I have ordered some from Ebay for a fraction of the cost and more ink so will let you know the outcome. The copy quality and print quality are quite high though, we had an Espon C1100 Laser before that and the cartridges were £55 each, needing 5 at a time!!

Lasted 2 years though.

Tesco were selling an HP Deskjet F4280 for £33 last week, apparently half price, which was a decent deal.

You are not going to get an all-singing, all-dancing, cheap-to-run all-in-one for £40, so I'd be looking to at least ensure I got an HP or an Epson (cartridges tend to be easily obtainable cheaply).

Thanks Comspec - Had a look at the F4280 on Amazon, seems theres a few software issues. Ye, I appreciate won't quite get everything for that price, the Epson in the links in my first post seems good http://www.ebuyer.com/product/146588.
