As a companion to BusinessZone's popular Christmas Gadget Countdown (http://www.businesszone.co.uk/item/192636), we also draw up a list of more serious tools that have made a difference to our members over the past year.

Here are some of the contenders for this summer's list - let us know if any of them would win your vote, or if we've missed something important off the list. Currently they are in alphabetical order rather than their significance. Your feedback will play an important part in the final listing, so let us know your suggestions and arguments for and against:

3G broadband modems
Laptop KVM connector switch (lets you contol a second PC)
Mobile apps
Netbooks
Remote access
Smartphones (iPhone 3GS, HTC Touch Pro 2, BlackBerry Bold, Nokia N95)
Solar-powered phone/laptop chargers
Touch screen technology
Twitter
USB memory sticks - now available up to 250GB
Web conferencing
Wireless USB
