Hi Everyone

I need your help. I started a web page and used a company that wasn't so good so I have now changed my web site host but had to design a new web page. It's not on the net yet but I have a link. Could you look at it for me and let me know what you think of
1) The design
2) The colour scheme
3) The text contact
4) The site page layout
5) The pages I have in the site.

My mag is not on there yet and please don't take this a form of advertising. Only look if you want to.
The link is

Cheers for your help.

I would never use black (or very dark blue) as the background for a website (unless critical to the theme).

Hope the below helps:

1. Unfortunately it does look a little bit like a free template from a magazine. Navigation is simple but as you have no text sitemap you should at least have ALT tags on the rollover images.

2. It's just too dark. I would personally lighten up the background, and use the background colour on the header and navigation

3. Text on the home page could do with matching the text font on the other pages.

The one thing I would say is replace the 'keyboard' image, its too pixely and doesn't do you any favours.

Thank you Dean

I will start to change some of what you said but there are somethings that I am unable to do as I don't fully understand the web site lingo ha ha. What did you mean by the ALT tags??

Cheers

No problem Chris.

ALT tags are alternative text descriptions for images. If, for example, your 'Home' image name was 'navigation1.gif' your coding (including ALT tag) would be as follows:

navigation1.gif

The text in the ALT tag is usually seen when you place your curser over an image (and the text in the ALT tag pops up in a little window).

Hope this helps,
Dean

Cheers Dean

I think I understand ALT tags now.

I have changed the fonts and bachround colour so if you can look again and tell me what you think now. It might need half hour though to update.

Hi,

None techy here...thought the site was lovely, but I didn't like the flashing bingo thing on it. It was very easy to use, but the blue was a little dark to read from :D

Hi Jayne

Rob's told me all about you and your story telling ha ha. Rob is going to concentrate more on the advertising side of the mag now as he wants to spend more time with his missus and I am doing the editorial part.

Take a look again at the link as I think the changes I made are now visible. Let me know what you think?

Regards

Chris

Hi,

The site still looks lovely, I love blue anyway, my favourite :D

Still don't like the flashing bingo...bingo reminds me of old ladies!

As for your comment on story telling, not sure your readers are ready for me yet
