Hi -

I wonder if you would give me some feed back on the colour scheme of my website.

My original thought was to make it gold/purple to give it a sort of regal feel but the 'gold' is looking more like pea green on some monitors!

So, should I give in and go down the pastel route and change the background to a lilac/pink type colour? Or should I persevere with the gold/purple theme but try and get a better 'gold' colour?

Thanks! [/url]

Hello,

IMHO - that is not gold coloured!

I personally don't like the colour combination, and would definitely change it.

Hi,

Not a nice colour on my screen...I like silver for weddings and ice blues..but when I iced cakes one of the most popular combinations were ivory and peach or terracotta with gold details. Red and silver was also a popular one.

That's great - thanks Jayne and Kate. The problem is I can't recreate metallic colours. But Peach & Cream sounds good.

Any more thoughts anyone?

Just had a look at your site

I would choose a soft pink to replace the background green and maybe use a lighter-but still quite strong- lavendar shade for your menus.

At the moment it is too bold and doesnt really correspond with the wedding theme. Then again you dont want to go too far into the pastel shades either, otherwise you will end up with something a bit weak.

Let me know if we can help you out anymore.

Best of luck

Certainly change - too many colours that just don't compliment each other.

I initially liked the idea of peach and cream, but will the peach compiment the purple - I'm not sure??

I think you would be wise to go with a paler lavender (as Jacqueline suggested) as the background, with a darker shade for the menu backgrounds.

Different shades of the same colour are much more effective than contrasting bold colours.

Hope this helps,
Dean

Thanks Jacqueline & C2Webdesign

I will have a play in the week with either:

Lavender & Dark Purple

or

Peaches & Cream

Will be back to ask you opinions again!

I agree the gold colour doesnt go well on my screen either, definitely a pink or a lilac for the type of business you have.
