I just wondered if anyone has been to one of these events? I keep seeing/hearing them mentioned and wanted to know peoples thoughts.

Are they effective? Do you make good contacts? Or is everybody so keen to sell themselves in the 3 minute slot that everyone comes away wondering what it was all about?

Would you go to an event? What would you want to achieve from it?

That's it really - just trying to find out whether it's worth going to one of these events!!

Cheers! :D

I have have been to one speed networking event about a month ago and found it rather interesting as an experience, but not good for business.
I'll give it a shot again, but personally I do not think you get enough time at these events to really get to know the person and the business. I prefer to get to know who I plan to do business with.

Hi,

I don't think i'd like them much, I like to find out about people and have a chat, would be too quick and cold for me.

I actually run speednetworking events in Northamptonshire and am getting a lots of interest and people who are getting referrals from the events, so they seem to be working. Please check out www.lightningconnection.biz.

Hey there,

I'm thinking of going to one in London this month. My take on it is you can't know unless you try...I'll let you know how it goes if I go to it.
