Hi,

I own a fairly small business, and I am just now filling out the abbreviated accounts I have.

Now my question is, I made a profit of about £2400 in 2008, and paid myself dividends of £2000 that year.

However on my balance sheet there is nowhere to put the £2000 dividends to balance it. Where do I put it? Shall I put profit and loss as £400? Otherwise my cash in hand just doesn't match up.

Thanks,
Peter

it comes off the profit and loss account in your capital and reserves.

You will need full accounts for HMRC (for your CT600) so these will show it.
