Does placing a new product on a website alone allow the product to be legally discounted as a sale item at a later date in the same way that putting a product on offer at full price in one store allows you to discount later in all stores. The company is a catalogue mail order business

Firstly, if you are selling to consumers you will have to make it clear what the circumstances are of the price comparison you are making. There is a new Code of Practice from the DTi which covers this which you can view at
