Any one used macromedia contribute before and would recommend it?

Yes definitely. I have a client that I suggested they use it when they moved away from their CMS. They love it, and wouldn't go back!

It's very easy for non-techy people to use, and quite a lot easier and quicker than a lot of CMS's.

It's not without it's faults however, in particular I find that managing the page navigation can be a little tricky.

Let me know if you have any questions though, and I'll try to help.

Best wishes,
Steve

Hi

I am the opposite I would not recommend it. A good content management system is always the way to go and doesn't have to be all that expensive depending upon what it is to be used for.

Just my opinion.

I think between those two previous answers you'll have what you're looking for ;-)

I believe there is a trial, the best thing to do would be to take a look. Contribute cannot replace a serious CMS, and to be fair it doesn't market itself to try to. However if all you want to it get your site up and be able to make the odd change in-house rather than paying maintenance from your web company it's one of the best tools for that.

I have installed the trial version and I believe that it is possibly right for my client who has had a lot of problems with web site updates in the past. The only places on their website that needs changing is the "news" and newsletter sections.
