Just Had an Idea ?

Hey All,

I just had an idea, i am setting up my new business and any services I require I would like to consider using members from UKBF (keep it in the family and all that)

I really think there should be a set are on this site, maybe a directory of some sort of businesses and services that we all run.

This would make it easy to use each others businesses.

As a method to stop any old tom, dick and harry from spamming the directory maybe you can only list your business once you have say 50+ posts. This would ensure that people who actually make this forum one of the best business forums I know would benifit.

What do you think?

Its a good idea it could be a sticky post. Speak to Ozzy. I also like my idea for a Barter board. Take a look in the tenders section.

Its a great idea the only problem could be is people might spam just to get their post count high enough to advertise.

However if the mods are strict with any spammy posts such as "lol" then I think it could work.

That is an excellent idea Mark, I've already used two services off here and both get top marks. It would make it much easier if there was a directory.

I agree - top idea. It means that we can all help each other when needed.

Maybe they could add a new field to the registration 'area of expertise' or something like that.

Obvoiusly going to be fairly general, but then it could be searchable on the member list, which would be the same as a directory really.

The other thing I'd be interested in is being able to subscribe to particular forums so that you automatically get alerted to new posts of interest.

Following on from my earlier post, I hae now fallen for UKBF hook line and sinker, I've made some great contacts, undertaken some business and would like to know exactly what everyone does and the services on offer. It's obvious that us regualr posters all know what each other does but it would be good to know about all the other 'not so regular' posters too

yes, even tho we can see under people posts in their tag line what they do and what businesses they run or are involved in there is no set area there is no set are for us to view this together

I agree whole heartedly with claire.

I too have fallen hook line and sinker for the ukbf. I have met many good contacts on here i would not otherwise have made.

It is not a waste of time coming on here, but an investment for my company :-)
