Can anyone recommend any evening networking events in Essex. I am still working full time whilst trying to get my business off the ground and need the opportunitiy to meet other business people.

Most of them are in the day sadly, also they are more seminars about business. I like the good old chamber of commerce events where you all stand up for 5 mintes and introduce yourself and then go round getting literature and making connections.

Any ideas anyone?

What are you doing on 15th Nov? I run www.trustnetworkers.com and we have a (free) evening event on the 15th in Central London. Register on the site and you'll receive details of the event when it's finalised. It's be near Liverpool St so I think you can get a train direct from your area.

Let me know if you intend to come along and I can introduce you to a few people.

Cor Duane, that a good idea, a local forum event where you can put names to faces!

That is a very good idea actually (or were you being saracastic? ""). At risk of becoming ecademy, perhaps Ozzy should have different people for different geographical areas to arrange events and then perhaps a national one every 6 months?

I volunteer for London!

Duane

I was being a little sarcastic  , I remember mentioning this idea when I had a meeting with you!

I am organising a Berkshire forum and part of it is a free annual meeting where everybody can put names to faces.

If Ozzy thinks this is a good idea... I volunteer for Berkshire!

Ooops, sorry. I was born with a defective sarcasm detector. trustNetworkers has been running for over a year.

It is a good idea though, and now you mention it I do remember you saying it when we met. Imitation being the best form of flattery and all that (oh, ok, call it theft/plagarism then!)

Hi claire

Have you thought of setting up an event yourself and inviting the key people you want to meet down to it.
Pehaps other businesses would be interested in helping to pay for it.
keep costs down.

Even then invite the press, and other key magazines down and gain extra free publicity.

Worth a try

As they say if the mountain won't come to claire and all that?

regards

Al

ps, you could add further interest and gain more money by raffling off one of your works at such an event?

Hmmmmm. Now you've got me thinking. Perhaps an event entitled "encouraging culture into your workplace" Sponsored by a big name in the area and stands from local galleries etc. I would have some competition but at the end of the day, If I make sure I am the only artist there then my prices will be well below all the others.

YOUR A GENIUS!

Or, what about asking the slug and lettuce in Brentwood if you could use their bar for a business networking event? Seeing as you've collaborated with them before...

I'm based in essex and could probably get involved in the promotion and get members of the press there etc.

That way it could be more aimed at all kinds of businesses... Drop me an email if you wanted to get together to organise it!!
