Hi. Im an enthusiastic looking to start a store in my towns indoor market. The shop would be in escence a head shop....selling smoking stuff (pipes, bongs, papers, grinders etc), as well as stuff like funny and band t-shirts, posters, novelty stuff. Basicaly It will be a bit of a student place.
The town I live in has a big uni but no head shop(s).

The problem is I dont know where to look for stock. I dont know whether there is 1 big place that sells all this sort of stuff or is you have to get items from individual suppliers.

I have between 1 and 2 grand for stock.....I imagian I could start with alot leess though.

Anyone with any experience in this sort of business or just anyone who knows about wholesalers could help me im sure.

I have done business at school and college so im not starting at the verry bottom however don't count any advice as irrelevent coz I need it all!

Thanx for reading, any help 100% appreciated.

Cheers.

I've just done a press release for a client who owns a wholesale directory and discussion group aimed at helping people find suppliers - might be some use to you: www.TheWholesaleCentre.co.uk

Once you've set up, if you think there may be a a market for Phsycodelic art work let me know and I could do you some trade paintings.

Hi,

Before getting your market stall, have you checked out rent on small shops. When we had our first business our shop rent was £74 per week, the local indoor market stall was £200 per week. So you see, we had a two story building for less than the price of a market stall and we still had the same foot fall as the market.

Good luck
