Hi All

I purchased Nochex in order to start receiving payments.... apart from their support literature being as clear as mud why are people saying that customers will be out off...

why? how?

thanks

Maybe customers are more inclined to 'trust' sites who use processing which they can relate too? Names like PayPal, RBSWorldPay, Sage (Protex) are well known and trusted. Tbh i have no experience of NoChex (apart from a cousin who did use them on his Ebay shop and sang their praises - but i guess he doesn't use them now) , but if you look through this forum, there will be many (mostly negative & some horrendous) threads about these 'lesser known' processors.

If costs are important to you at this moment, maybe you should look at using PayPal, and maybe Google as an alternative (and back up), and then maybe look into using one of the major providers in due course.

Nochex is the easiest payment processor to integrate, there isn't much too it, what problems did you have?

Ah ha, just seen your other post re some cart you've picked that most people would never have heard of, hardly Nochex's problem? You should be having a moan at the cart vendor.

I used Nochex years back and they seemed to be taking off at the time, i very rarely see them anywhere now and think they won't be around in a few years time.

It's a big thumbs down from me for nochex and that's just from a customer service point of view.

Although subjective I wouldn't use them again as a merchant and I wouldn't use them if I saw them on somebody else's site. Saying that I don't think I've seen them on anyone's site for some time.

Thanks all. Paul Brown; the "why is nochex rubbish" was more like "why do people think nochex is rubbish". support literature; its irrelevant to which shopping cart i'm using... i was expecting 'step by step' not "john smith owns a pet shop and uses nochex in xyz way"!

I use paypal standard and have nochex as an alternative. Nochex rarely gets used as nobody has ever heard of them and the times it has been used quite often people have tried to use paypal first and it hasnt worked for some reason.

Thanks to Ebay loads of people have a paypal account and even those that dont know people who do use it successfully, Nochex cant compete with that trust factor.

It is still however a good idea to have 2 payment options in case a potential customer has a problem with your primary choice or there are technical difficulties with it.

As for them being crap, I have never had a problem with it at all but like I say it hardly ever gets used!

I tried Nochex, it didn't work for my business as it took forever to the money to clear on the bank account.
When I decided to stop using them, I had to wait 6 month before getting the money from the Nochex account to my bank, sweet.
I got the money since but guess if I will ever use them again.
