I am setting up a RBS WorldPay payment facility for my site and see I have the option to pass the users name and address etc to have it pre-populated on the WorldPay secure payment page.

Just wondered if anyone has any thoughts on whether this is a good idea or if it is best to just let them fill out the details themselves?

If I do pass the information I also have the option of whether to lock this information on the WorldPay form or to leave it editable. Again I would appreciate any advice on which option is best?

Thanks

Paul

Assuming that you've already taken that information on your own site (which you'd normally need to do if you are going to be shipping to them!), before switching the user over to worldpay, I would certainly send that information through, else they'll have to enter it twice during the purchase process.

As someone who regularly makes internet purchases, I must say it REALLY gets up my nose if I have to type my details more than once.

From a buyers point of view, I would suggest you pre-populate the WorldPay page, but NOT locked, in case they use different name/title on their bank/credit cards (I am known by my middle name, and have post etc addressed to me in that name, but have bank cards with both my first & middle initial).

Thanks guys for the advice. I suspected this was the way to go but just wanted to check that it wasn't a big no no to pass their contact details across to the WorldPay payment page.
