Hello All,

I know that a lot has been written on this topic already. However, when setting up a new website, how can I increase its rating on Google? Also, it seems to me that there is a factor that the longer a website has been around, it gets a better rating. Am I correct? :|

Is there a list of steps to tick when setting up a website to get a good google rating?

Thanks,

Zarah

Hi Zarah,

If you are currently setting up your website, do remember to add optimised webpage content, add HI tags. Get some SEO done for your site. SEO really helps to go a long way in GOOGLE page rank. :)

The basics are title, headings and then lots of fresh content and plenty of backlinks to the site (preferably from high page rank domains) which you can do by either commenting on blogs, forum postings, writing and submitting articles, social bookmarking (submit your sites to places like digg.com) and youtube videos.

having you r keyword as your domain name is a big help, after that get your titles, h1 and h2 headers to refflect your keywords - then go out and get backlinks.
And yes - age is a big factor - Google is always wary of fly-by-nights, so you have to be around for a bit to get them to trust you.
