Amyone know of a job you can get paid to work from home but online. I am not a computer techie, geek or It person, but wondered if there is something fun, good you actually get paid, preferably by large multinational companies. Wouldn't mind such work. Or a job with abito f a mix. A bit on the computer and get out about every now and then. Or even govt ?

Hi

I've heard that people can make money by filling in surveys and using cashback sites. The job you describe I think would be somthing like Ebay. I suppose they could employ home based personal to check adverts for them.

Hi,

There are a few companies who pay people for typing and admin, for example anyone who has legal secretarial experience could try a company called Voicepath, which provides a transcription service for lawyers. They dictate their work on to voice files, the files get sent to you via the internet, to type them out and then send them back.

Here is an article here about somebody who does this:

You could also try affiliate marketing - building websites to earn commission on sales or from adsense income:

This site also has some advice on working from home:

There certainly are jobs out there depending on what you want to do - and when you say "online" if you mean it has to be to do with a website or if you just want any job where you can work from home and communicate to the "office" using email/ VPNs etc.

Back in my student days I used to moderate a couple of chat rooms for a company (unfortunately the company went under and whilst the name was subsiquently bought and it is now operating again they no longer have paid moderators). I do not know of any companies looking for this kind of thing right now but certainly 5-10 years ago American companies were very short on staff to cover their twilight shifts on 24/7 manned websites and so the time difference used to work out well.

You bet there are good online jobs out there. Our instructors work 100 percent online - from anywhere in the world and at times convenient to them. I am always looking for instructors who are physically disabled or deaf because the Internet can open new doors for them. Slowly but surely, the Internet will revolutionize the workplace and work procedures.

There are several virtual assistants at this site. I'm sure they can give valuable advice about the implications of working online.

As one of the Virtual Assistants Steve mentioned, I can confirm it is definately possible to work on the internet.

Virtual Assistants (VA) are individuals that have skills than are not necessarily tied to the traditional workplace, e.g. administration, web design, translating, proofreading, audio transcription, bookeeping, etc. As a VA, you are self employed, work the hours you choose and provide exemplary service to your clients. You do however have to work hard to market yourself and you need good equipment and software and a reliable broadband internet connection, as the files your clients send you may be large.

It is possible to earn money by doing surveys but it doesn't earn you a lot (since April 2004, I have earnt the grand old sum of £18!). I have found that Quickwise www.quickwise.co.uk is the best.
