Right, so we all know the more you advertise the more likely you are to sell.

We're only a new business and obviously not well known.

We are cracking on with the obvious, website, flyers and business cards etc. So we should get some more sales when they are all sorted but have you got anymore ideas/tips for getting even more sales through clever marketing and advertisement

Hi there

You've listed all the obvious ones plus you need to do follow ups, sales calls etc I'm sure you know that already.

Have you thought of Networking getting other local businesses to know you etc.
there is also other online/web based advertising like PPC etc I'm sure others will be along to advise re all that

We design pretty much everything, but mostly specialising in design for business' and musicians.

So logos, business cards, letter heads, flyers/posters, packaging, layouts etc etc :)

If i were you i would concentrate on the seo for the site.

I put together a canvas printing website about a month back and over 60% of its orders come from people searching on the web for a local canvas print company.

Its great having a website but does anyone visit it?

As you know, the world today is more centered around internet and mobile,why have you left out the these? In one of the articles I read about mobile marketing , the technique used was simple yet dynamic. It doesn't cost you much and at the same time you are seen to the masses. Techniques like bulk sms, sms broadcast,group text messaging which won't weigh much on your pocket and yet help your business to be more reachable. I myself used some of these services and was quite satisfied.

Secondly you can use Internet Marketing / SEO too by getting the website optimised. This helps to increase traffic to your website which eventually leads to good sales lead. In this also I sought help from a company that helped me optimize my website and increase my online visibility through better page rank.

A lot of people are sceptical at hotmail addresses. Maybe an idea to get a proper email addy @yourdomainaddress.com for example

I disagree.

I've worked with businesses where we did less marketing and sold more.

What would you rather do: send salesletters to 100 very targeted prospects? Or send letters to 1,000 random people?
