Hi ladies (and gentlemen!)

I've just launched www.whosfordinner.com and am brainstorming as many marketing ideas as possible.

So far I've done the following:

Word of mouth
Listed on directories for singles
Advertised in local venues
Advertised in London magazine (new publication which is quite good)
I've canvassed with leaflets.
I'm getting banner ads designed which will be placed on websites.

Any ideas or suggestions most welcome!

Ronke

Have you launched this to the press?

We have free tips and advice at http://www.pressdispensary.co.uk/99323/press_release_hints_and_tips.php?PHPSESSID=7fda6bb 2fe9bba1cf36c957733ba4f0e

Here are some ideas.

Link up with a local paper to run a competition to win 1 of 10 free places at your next dinner. The questions could be based on famous single people (are there any?)

Get some testimonials on your site - stories from real people who linked up successfully

Invite a journalist or freelancer along to an evening to write a piece about the industry. Would have to be on the basis of 'no names'.

Word of mouth is going to be the strongest advertising you will get and to generate this you will need to throw a few freebies to get the ball rolling

Have you made it very easy for your exsiting users to tell their friends? Perhaps somewhere on the site they can enter a friends email address and it'll automatically send them a message about the site?
