I have a client who has a site offering a service at a set price. It only currently offers Paypal/Credit Card but has started to get some orders from the US and they are not liking the Paypal option at all.
Weve been looking at other options, particularly to cover the US market, but would appreciate anyones advice, horror stories, etc on the options available.
Nothing too expensive, and nothing which needs masses of transactions.

Not sure why the issue with PayPal to be honest. In fairness it "can" be perceived to be a bit eBayish I guess but given professional and sympathetic on-site treatment then there is no reason that this should be a major issue. It is, after all, massively used. What about google checkout? Or you could go the route of Worldpay, Sagepay etc.

Are you making your customers aware that they don't need to setup a paypal account?
They can just pay through paypal with a debit/credit card.

In terms of online payment, the safety is what i care.
I prefer Paypal, Google Checkout, 2Checkout and Moneybookers
CS-Cart

Authorize.NET should also be mentioned as a possible solution - it is very popular for worldwide markets.

WorldPay would be a good option - If you choose their multi-currency option you can offer/display prices in $ (USD) and Worldpay take care of the conversion and settlement to you in GBP. You can define the price in £ of the item(s) and WorldPay manage the presentation of the price in USD to take account of the currency conversion and spread.
Its a better solution if you are using it on a regular basis rather than just every now and then

Thanks all.
I am aware of the options tbh, but I wanted some handson experience that people had, to make a better choice.
I know what they all say they can do, I wanted to know just how good they were at actually doing it :)
