Moving out

Just read the thread about start up cash, and wondered, for any graphic/web designers who started in the bedroom, how much were you turning over before you moved to an office/ hired staff? I know one guy who only moved from his backroom when his turn over was high enough to pay him a good wage and to pay for office space (around £37k pa). Is this about right or do most people move out when it gets over 20k?

I dedicated a room in my house as an office, the problem I had was when there was too much work for me to handle and I needed to employ someone. Not wanting someone else working from my home meant I needed an office so had to find the £'s for office space and a salary.

For a while it felt like I had gone back 6 steps and really didn't help the cashflow.
