View Full Version : Bully Off - A Complete Guide To Stamping Out Bullying

Hi,

At the moment this isn't a site from which I hope to make a living, but it would be nice to see it become busy and perhaps buy me a pizza now and again! :D

Ive waded through pages and pages of boring long winded waffle that would even bore my old photography teacher to sleep... and believe me he takes some beating!

I was a victim too (yeah, yeah. I know you're sick of the celebs telling you so you dont want to hear me whine) The difference is I'm not rich and although my life is OK it is far from fabulous. I also want to help rather than constantly remind you how fabulously rich and beautiful I am.

The truth is bullying does serious damage, not just in the short term. It can effect some people for the rest of their lives.

Thats why I'm doing this site. Although the rubber bands are a lovely colour and David Beckham thinks they're fab, they are in the end just an elastic band to fire even more ammo at you when the halfwits are bored of spitting chewed up paper at you through their biro.

So, there you have it - a bit about me and my site - a big HELLO to you all, and please feel free to give me advice on what I need to do to get the site noticed, and have it become busy!

Cheers

Sarah

Hi Sarah,

Welcome to the forum :D Great idea, this will help many people who have experienced this. Have you put posters up at schools etc.?

Best Wishes

Some good info there, I was bullied at school and to be honest now its just made me a stronger person, it made me determined to go to university and do well. I now want to setup my own business. I would love one of the people that used to bully me to turn up for an interview for one of my positions just to see the luck on their face :)

It does do damage though, even now my confidence is still quite low, it does have an affect which never really goes away.

Good luck with your site.

Just a bit of general advice, the trick with content based websites is to make sure you don't flood it with adverts otherwise people will be put off. This is a common mistake a lot of people make when they first setup a website.

This is one of my old sites and I decided I wouldn't bother placing adverts on it until it gets a lot of traffic.

www.musicinmanchester.co.uk.

It gets around 100 hits a week so there is no way the adverts would generate any revenue.

Hi,

Thanks for your comments. As far as posters go, I have some produced and I'm in the process of trying to get them in local schools. If you know of any schools near you that may be interested, by all means let me know and I'll send some posters down :D

Re ads - I take your point, I dont intend to add any further ads to the site other than the one google block that is currently there. I know I could probably make a lot of money from affiliate links etc but thats really not the aim of the site.

Cheers

Hi Sarah, a great topic. I hope it does well and you give any revenue raised as a result back to those taking practical steps to stop it from happening rather than indulging in the pizza.

Sarah,

It's so encouraging to see a site intended primarily for the benefit of visitors and not the site owner. I wish you every success.
