I am currently building a website and have a name for my website but it will not be live for a good 6 months, where do i register my websites name so that i have copyright? thanks in advance.

You need to first see if the name is available and then purchase the domain name.

I think he meant that he has a domain but wants to trademark the name?

Trademarking the name doesn't stop anyone using it btw - it just gives you grounds for a legal claim against them if they do.

Domains and copyright are separate things.

I have an idea for a name, i think it is unique so i want to get it copyrighted before my website goes live, just in case someone else thinks up the name and copyrights it also it is available, Ive checked. Thanks.
