Anyone have any thoughts when the next Google PR update will take place?

The sooner the better - my website was launched two days before the last PR update so effectively had no backlinks :-(

Two months since the last one so I would expect it in the next month.

Ive seen the predictors around but someone told me they are a load of rubbish and they you cant predict it, is that true???

Sometimes it can get it roughly right although mostly wrong :) One you get into your site and know how many backlinks it has got and how many pages it has got you should have rough idea of what your page rank is going to move to unless there is a major change in the algorithm.

Google directory page ranks updated recently (we noticed our entry change on 7th Sept).

This means that the general toolbar probably won't be far behind. Backlinks updated as well apparently (our pagerank jumped).

Next directory changes are likely around end October / early November.

Keep building the links, as the backlink changes are pretty frequent nowadays.
