Hi,
I've been testing out my new web site, i've added banners to it and they do not show on my site, yet they show on my designers view. He says the graffics are being blocked by AOL on my site.
I am on AOL 9.0 broadband, not asking for help on AOL because they are rubbish. Does anyone know how to unblock the graffics block on AOL, i've looked and looked and cannot find it.
And before you say AOL is rubbish, I know that, but have a contract to finish until next year. :D
Thanks
Jayne

Not an expert on AOL by any means but certainly with the old dialup AOL you only had to use AOL to connect but then could load up the likes of IE or FireFox and use it as your browser (keeping AOL open in the background)
There are a fair number of people that use AOL (for some strange reason) so is it just your settings for AOL thats blocking it or something inherent to AOL? If it is the latter you really need to get the designer to re engineer it so that AOL users will be able to see the site properly. Without a URL to look at I cant suggest which of the two it is.

Have I heck! Everything else shows on the site, but not the banners. Don't know what urls and things are, so not sure if they should be allowed or not. Been clicking all sorts, think i'm making it worse

Hi,
Still at it...It isn't AOL that is the problem, it works fine on my sisters AOL, I changed all my web preference settings to match her's and re-started my computer..Still doesn't work!
I have run out of ideas now, any help would be welcome :D
Thanks

So what EXACTLY do you mean by blocked?
Do you mean you see little red "X's" instead of the banner ad's? Or that the webpage just looks the same as it did before the designer added the banners?

Hi,
There's a white space (doesn't look any different than before the banner was added) and no banners, everyone else can see the banners but me. I've altered AOL settings to allow all graphics, but that didn't help either. Done the advance setting thing, exactly like my sister has her's set, still no joy.

Well if your sure that it isn't an AOL problem it must be something else blocking the ads...
Have you got any other security programs on your machine (Nortons internet security for example)???
Jayne

RoFL... Simplest solutions are always the best.
By the way TWD.... I love your avatar. I thought it was a broken image and was about to look and see if it was a problem with this site until the cat popped up :)
