Hi folks

As some of you will know, next February, I'm going to be attempting to set a new Guinness world record for the longest ever DJing marathon.

The current official record is set at 72 hours, however an unofficial time was set at 84 hours earlier this year.

I'm hoping to DJ continuously for 96 hours (4 days) and, yes I'm very mad :)

I'm looking to raise in excess of £10,000 for the Dreamflight charity. Dreamflight's aim is to send incurably sick and disabled kids from the UK on a holiday of a lifetime to the major theme parks in Florida.

Now, I'm trying to get this organised all on my tod, which is proving to be problematic to say the least.

If there are any promoters or PR people out there who are willing to take on part of the roll of getting the word out, please feel free to pm me.

What's in it for you?

well, obviously I can't pay in money, but you'll get your logo seen in as many places as I can manage etc etc etc, as well as the warm and fuzzies knowing you've helped me help some very deserving children.

You can find out all about me and the attempt at www.djworldrecord.com

I hope to hear from someone.

thanks in advance
Darren

speak to my brother Paul, he might be able to help but you'll have to ask him nicely...

Depends on what you're after.

Otherwise, email me and I'll have a chat with him if it's easier.

I'm also willing to help out with any admin work or ppt presentations etc...

Are you in contact with Guiness World Records? As ii is for charity they can do a bit of PR as part of their efforts. They will even send a measurement team for free if it is a charity event.

Hi Darren
I hate to be the spectre of the feast, and i admire what you are doing

But are you aware Florida has bought out new gun laws. These basically state;

Any citizen feeling either remotely threatened or nervous may be permitted to use deadly force with minimun fear of prosecution.

Tourists (including British) are advised not to get into unecessary rows with other Floridians especially motorists, as the liklihood of being shot and killed is dramatically increased.
And this is a state to which you want to take terminally ill children?

Take my advise, continue with your kind gesture by all means, but i should consider taking the poor darlings elsewhere :-)

I have often wanted to go to that state to visit the space centre, i do not think i have the courage to bother now.

Kind regards

Al

Asteeleleith, these are incurably sick and disabled kids, they are not going to get into an arguement over parking spaces at Disneyland.

I went to Florida a few years ago and they could not have been friendlier.
