so, i have just taken what i hope to be my last AAT exams, (fingers crossed i pass) and will be going on to study ACCA in september.....my question is....

talking with my dad's electrician this evening, he commented that he was going to see an accountant tonight to get his affairs in order, he is charging him to file his return £400 for 4 months worth of trading, i thought this was a little expensive to say the least. He then asked me if i would be interested in doing it for him.

Am i able to do this kind of work with the AAT qualification.

How would i go about setting up, might be an idea at this point to tell you i curently work in industry.

I would really like to think about this this as a little side line from home in the evenings, i don't want a big booming business, i very much like my job and the way i am heading in industry, however, it is always good to keep your options open, and earn some money at the same time!

Thanks in advance

you need to be a MAAT - have a look at the AAT web site.

If you go on to ACCA you cannot practice until you have a practice certificate. See the ACCA web site.

As I said - check out what is says about being in practice on the AAT site. You should be guided by the rules of your institute really.

Also if you do any work you must register for ML.
