Hello,

My name is Emilie and i launched Love2hire a couple of weeks ago.
We are a UK hire directory with a twist allowing companies to promote their items, places and services that they have to hire out and also enabling individuals to do the same. How you may wonder....well any household items that they have lying around the house they don't want to sell but use occasionally they can hire out. It could be a camera, car seat, lawn mower etc.

So i wondered if you like the website, like the idea, would you join the directory as an individual or company, any ideas to improve etc.

Any advice and help greatly appreciated.

Thanks Emilie

Hello,

I think you have a fantastic idea.

The problem that I would have as a user is trying to find something that is available in my area - equally categories that are empty are off-putting, but highly likely.

I think you need to make it far more localised - in a similar way to gumtree. That way you wouldn't spend time wading through items that are not going to be of any accessible to you. I know you have a search facility, but sometimes people like to browse and end up buying things that they have no real use for. The categories act as prompts and would make people look through them.

I would then have a special items/services section that sits within a national section - things like sports cars and high value items.

I would probably then use gumtree to publicise it.

Cheers,

Martin

i think it's a really simple idea but most of the best ones are. i like it a lot.
like ebay but to hire things lol.
may i ask why is 'Surveillance devise (devices)' on the Prohibited items list? along with being spelt wrong.

good luck with your business, regards Benjamin :)
