Hi,

We are looking to tie up with a charity based in Birmingham for a fundraising event for the New Orleans disaster. I was just wondering, if there is a way to get a list of all the charities based in Birmingham (especially those which might be working on this).

Also, are there any other sources which I could look at for help, with fundraising?

The best thing to do is simply tell all the local companies that it is for a charity event and offer free advertising on posters etc. I did an event in Bristol a couple of years ago and managed to get free design/ printing, several 'b' list celebs doing little bits, radio station lent a PA system etc

The other thing is how are you intending to actually raise the donations? Is there going to be a theme? If there is then contact companies in that field for donations. When I did another event which was a computer show I contacted computer mags, game manufactures, hardware manufactures, stores and got an absolute tonne of stuff include a top of the range PC
