Does anybody here know of a database provider for DVD/CD/Games consoles which include all descriptions, reviews, pre release info etc. ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated,

All the best,

Hi,

Thanks for the post,

Had a look at them, but its not really suited to what we need.

I have tried www.redmuze.com and AMG but their services could be quite costly at this stage, does anyone know of any other providers ?

Cheers

Jamie

I know it is generally not things which people want to discuss but.... what do you actually need it for/ how do you intend to use it?

Are you wanting to buy a one off data dump which you will then maintain or a ongoing service with you linking directly to the SQL server?

We need it to link into the SQL server so that the information (such as pre-release info) is kept up to date on a weekly basis.

Our current database is ok, just not comprehensive enough. Some titles are missing and descriptions etc - so we need a concise, fully populated database to work with.

any ideas...........

Cheers

Hi Jamie

Have you tried the Amazon E-Commerce (web) service?

It is free and from the little information you have given I think it would meet your needs.

They also have an excellent developer forum:

http://forums.prospero.com/am-assocdevxml

I am currently working on a project using .NET to hook up to it and retrieve the relevant data we require and store it in our own SQL Server. From what I have seen so far I am very impressed with the data available.

Dotty

Hi Dotty,

Thanks for the valuable post,

My developers are looking into it and so far we are very happy with the set-up. It seems to be exactly what we're looking for, hopefully we'll be able to put it to good use.

Thanks again,

Jamie
