Can anyone recommend a company to provide business phone line and broadband for new office at home. The business has 2 partners so we will each need a phone line and broadband at our homes.

BT or Virgin...all others are re-sellers...that tend to provide no after sales!!!
Sorry to be obvious, but you're probably best with BT for the lines. I have less confidence with their business broadband (oddly, they seem to have better reliability on their residential services) - Zen are often quoted as one of the best.
If you and your partner work from home I would have a good look at VoIP because you can then operate as a single office with calls between you being free and inbound calls manageable via virtual PBX - it's the way we work and it costs less than a single exchange line. If you do go the VoIP route, I suggest you look a our business broadband too. Some info here:

Hi,
If you require a Business Broadband+phone line rental combination at both sites. Calls between you and your partner would be free. pm me if you would like more details. Aftercare service is personal and as often or as little as you require.
Best wishes
Avril:)

I'd definately look at voIP. I was with a company called Vonage who I thought were brilliant.

Hey Optimus
I have to agree with CJD and the others in advising VoIP, and not because it's our business but simply because it sounds like the best option
If you have any questions regarding our service please give me a shout on here. We have a lot of our customers who are SME's or use our product as a second business line within their premises
Also, we recently wrote an article about 'choosing a VOIP for your business' that you might find useful - I am going to send you the link in private
You can get in touch with me on here, through Twitter (vonageuk) or on Facebook (search for 'Vonage UK')
Ciao,
Enzo
PS
Mark - thanks for mentioning Vonage, it would be great to actually hear more about your experience with our service

I'll give you my experience with Vonage, and that was that it was a very disappointing experience, which after months of terrible call quality and long support calls to try and resolve the problem, I ended up having to cancel, and then being charged to cancel, even though I was cancelling because the call quality was so poor (callers would say that I was breaking up, there were long delays on the calls etc).
I then moved to Voipfone, and everything worked perfectly - no more complaints from callers not being able to hear me.
I'm now on Gradwell (purely because the of the back office system) and I really rate VOIP - but Vonage nearly put me off it for good.

Hey Gavin
Thanks for replying,
Unfortunately every company has its UPs and DOWNs and we are pretty confident we got much better these days
In the meantime, I hope you are enjoying the Gradwell service and apologies if you had a bit of 'troubles' with us in the past
Cheers
Enzo

We use eclipse .net .uk for business phone and broadband. You still have to get a line installed by BT though. they are reliable, customers services are great, you speak to someone who knows what they are doing straight away.
Or if you want to go down a VOIP router then orbtalk .co .uk are good. each partner would only need a broadband line (or use an existing broadband if they already have one at home to save on unnecessary additional costs) and a VOIP phone (about £60) that way you get a phone number of your choice and you can divert calls to any of your partners at home if needed and to the caller it looks like a proper divert with music on hold etc.
