New boy here who would like to introduce himself before the posting begins - and I have lots of questions:)
Well the story is I'm currenty employed full time as a Video Games Designer but am looking to start a small company from home selling a product I've designed. How many times have you heard this story before:)
Looking forward to the adventure.
Again, greetings to you all.
Mark.

Hi
Welcome to the forum :)
Can you give anymore information about the product, or is it hush hush at the moment?
Many Thanks
Leo

Cheers Leo
Yes, it is a bit hush hush at the moment as I'm currently putting a patent application together. I would like to get 'Pat pending' on the product before they go to market. I know legally it doesn't add a lot but I feel it gives the product a little more of a credible feel.

Hi Mark
wow, Video Games Designer, something I would love to be able to do, if I had any game coding talent!
Good luck on the new venture, whatever it is!

Hi sjr,
You don't need any coding talent to be a video games designer - thats what coders are for:)
Don't let it hold you back - live the dream!

How did you get in to this type of job?
I would love to go down this road.

I was lucky that I knew someone working in the company (the boss) who mentioned there were testing positions available. I jacked my civil engineering (designer) job in and moved up North with my girlfriend. Looking at it now it was a big risk, at the time we didn't really think too much about it, and just went for it.
Once the testing was complete I was fortunate to be offered the Design position on a second game. 10 years, 3 companies and 2 Euro number 1's later here I am back down South again still doing the same.
