Hi there,

Am looking for PR firm recommendations..

Preferably the firm will:

--Have expereince promoting online recruitment firms
--Charge by the release and not by the retainer
--Have a good track record in getting exposure for smaller firms

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Harv

Unfortunately most PR firms WILL charge a one-off fee which includes:

xxx months to build-up/create contacts
Phone calls/letter writing to media
Their time
Press release writing
Re-contacting media

There's no guarantee of anything media-wise using a PR agency. Much media success stories eg: Park-let.co.uk will be innovative and thus will get much more press interest as a whole - and make excellent profits compared to normal ideas.

However you do this, expect a long, long wait for any press stories to happen, and it's not cheap either. :)

Hi Harvey,

There are a lot of good guys posting on this forum. Arguabley the best independent PR guys in the UK. Plenty of journalist/agency experience, crazily good value and top notch results.

In no order of preference.

www.publicityheaven.co.uk
www.10yetis.co.uk
www.pressmanpr.co.uk
www.bojanglecommunications.co.uk
www.pressdispensary.co.uk

They, and I, for the most part will charge on a release by release basis.

Check us/them out!

Cheers,

Richard

What kind of exposue are you looking for? I've found that doing it yourself works well if you're looking at Trade stuff - journos want to hear from the main man, not ago-between.

I say "I've found", but it's actually one of man things Richard Glynn (above) pointed out for me. It's well worth paying him a wedge of cash to do a few days consultancy for you and ge you up and running. The advice h's given me as done wnders for the profile of my company.

We did have quite a good foundation when we first when to him though - courtesy of a couple of years of hard work from 10Yetis (mentioned above). You can't dive in head first expecting results - you need to build a bit of a profile first.

We (http://www.lowcostpr.co.uk) charge on a release basis, and specialise in the small business market.

Another name for your list there.

Thanks
