Hi All.... I have a bit of an email problem!
I am trying to send an email to a database of around 4 thousand people.,....
but my web host will only allow me to send to 100 per day....
I am happy with them in all other aspects....
But I need to be able to send these emails
Is it possible to host just my email accounts somewhere else that would allow me to bulk email??
Or am I going to have to switch to a different hosting company all together??
Any advice would be a great help
Thanks

If they really do only allow 100 emails per day, change your hosting company, whatever solution you use for your emails.
There's a number of solutions available for managing email lists, mailchimp (as already mentioned), Constant Contact (http://www.constantcontact.com/index.jsp) is very popular as is Icontact (http://www.icontact.com/)
Advantages are that they handle subscribe/unsubscribe requests automatically and their IP address is white listed so that your mail is less likely to be treated as spam. Disadvantage is cost.
We use MailList Controller (http://www.arclab.com/products/amlc/index.html) which has the advantage of running on your own PC and has a one off purchase cost. There's a trial version which will do 1 list of 100 addresses then there's a Pro and an Extreem version. (Blatant plug - if you decide to buy, please do so through the Redline Digital Services shop (http://www.redline.co.uk/shop/software-arclab.html) as we will get a commission payment. I'd also be happy to help you set it up if needed

We use this company;
http://www.newzapp.co.uk/
They do some rather useful tracking tools, so we can see who has been reading the emails that we have sent and how long they have been reading them for.
Useful to know - because then you can go back to the person that has read your message 17 times and talk about what you've emailed them..!

Sledgehammer to crack a walnut soution ;)
It's not surprising that the host is limiting emails although 100/day is quite low. They are doing because you are likely to be using a shared mail server with other users and they are protecting the server from abuse and possible blacklisting.
We have a number of "thottles" and alerts in place to weed out people who like to abuse our mail service and if they are genuine and can demonstrate clear opt out policies and procedures plus list validation then we raise the bar...

How often do you want to send the emails?
Were the email addresses purchased online or opt-in from your own site?
I assume you have never sent to the entire list before so it will be a first run?
More than happy to provide a quote for a one off or ongoing bulk email package.
