I personally think its a great idea and if no one else in the UK is doing it, you have found yourself a great niche...
I would get started straight away before someone else thinks of it.
But makesure your website is up to stratch else it will not help promote your business :)
Once your up and running please PM me, and I might have a few customers for you.

I wasn't too keen on the sound of it until I looked at the website and now I really like the idea - certainly is original!
I think you should go for it.

Please tell me what you think?
Too tacky for me - have you investigated if the business is a success in the US?

I was only half jokng. It's very tempting but at the moment I have to give www.kashflow.co.uk my full attention.
If you (or somebody else) hasn't started this by next year I'd look at it again.

From my limited understanding this would mean that they are protected whilst their patent application is pending and they can license it to you.
If for any reason their patent application is rejected then the risk to you is that other companies can copy the technology and you'll no longer be the sole business in the UK with rights to use their technology (because it wont be theirs anymore)
Also, if you do enter into anything with them, try and get an exclusivity deal so that they wont license it to anyone else in the UK for a speciifc period of time.

Excellent Idea, if I was you i'd delet the post before someone steels it. Yes, I think people are this corny, they just don't admit it. My husbands daft enough to buy me one  and from experience of making wedding cakes etc, people will buy anything. I once did a cake of ladies boobs with nipple rings, it's true and a week before there anniversary (Yes an anniversary cake) I had to change it, because children were off to the party, they went for a black lace bra :D So you see, you will do well with this.

I also thought about it on a friday/saturday night, or even someone who's in the dog house ;)
"sorry" or something similar its a great idea and I would take it up a.s.a.p because someone will steal the idea.
Not me though I am too busy :(

I'd love to be on the receiving end of one of these surprises - so i guess the pricing has to reflect what is potentially a "throw away" sum that won't hit the pocket too much.
If you're looking for business funding Mark, I can make a suggestion that could be beneficial to you with very little expense (if any at all)..
Not sure if I've passed the grade here to post the website address but if you can't see the link give me a call instead.
Cheers

My mother is a qualified florist and she ran her own florist shop for several years, so I have a lot of the knowledge needed already as it was my part-time job helping and even running the business while my mother was away on holiday.
If anyone is interested in being a partner in the business then contact me....

First I thought it was a tacky idea, but I can deal the benefit in the business. It is so unique that it could be a winner, especially through affiliate marketing or on the wedding websites, like confetti and hitched.

As you said they would be lovely scattered on the tables, but what about personalised petal confetti, if it isn't too difficult to produce - that is unique.
The website you suggested offers normal bouquets as well, I don't think I would bother with that, I would just focus on the unique personalised products if it were me, as you would have a USP.

Now that I've actually been to the site you suggested, its not quite as i thought... what i had envisaged is that it would probably be an inexpensive item - No more than the cost of a good coffee or sandwich - just a one off rose or or item that had more longevity than a card but quirky with it.
The idea of $60 (quick mental calc to £sterling) for a bunch of roses is more than throw away money i think and would reduce your market opportunities. - Nope - not an ounce of Scottish blood in me - but I'd balk at something that smacked of Interflora prices and would probably choose their branding for reliability.
Not suggesting that the bouquets etc shouldn't be part of what could you offer also, but i liked my original misperception that it was a spontaneous gift that could say anything from "Sorry your dog has fleas and that you have to burn the sofa" to "Yep all men / women are ******** - in an affordable format that you might pick up in a lunch break and just leave on a workmate's desk.
I feel better now I've emptied my brain of that one
Good luck anyway

Can you get these from interFlora? I think that's how you justify the price, this is a unique offering that you can't get elsewhere.

ok - i wasn't actually suggesting that I'd seen Interflora do this.. but in terms of fresh flowers etc.
they would be my choice..
back to work for me....

My view of interflora is very poor anyway.
A family member once received a birthday flower arrangement one from interflora and one from a local private florist.
For the same money the private florist shop had many more flowers is its arrangement as well as them lasting several days longer than the interflora ones.

Don't get me started on interfora!
You are always better imho to go for a local florist. Find one on the web in the area you want to send flowers and phone or order online. I promise you it'll be cheaper and better
