They made some nice compensation payments last year to come of their clients, me being one of them ;)

They also lost a lot of clients, like me ;)
I moved to Protx and linked it in to my merchant account. Protx too suffered a massive DDOS attack a while ago but their servers only went down for an hour at the most even though it was a huge attack...

It was the 2nd of October that the first DoS attack happened ( http://www.webmasterworld.com/forum22/2852.htm and http://www.theregister.co.uk/2004/10/04/worldpay_ddos/) and the November before that as well ( http://news.zdnet.co.uk/internet/security/0,39020375,39117635,00.htm)
We now have Nochex installed in case it happens again and we can switch over quickly. I hope it doesn't come to that though!

I'll be moving a lot of my payments to NOCHEX soon.

The only thing with Nochex is they accept UK payments only at the moment (as far as I am aware), but it's a good alternative.

Yep it is UK payments only. You don't have to register with them if the amount is below a certain level either. Over the threshold and the customer needs to create a NoChex account.
At the end of the day they are great if you are just starting out and need a quick, and cheap, method to take payments online. For more established businesses, the best solution is via a merchant account and Internet gateway like Protx for example...

Slightly off topic but can I just say what a great site you have Gary! Although I haven't worn a tie for years, from a users perspective it's everything a good eCommerce site should be...
Very impressed :)
