I am fed up of cold calling and am thinking of using a telemarketing company to make appointments for me. I am trying to find out the experiences of people who have used telemarketing companies to make appointments. Have the appointments lived up to your expectations? Are there any good telemarketing companies that you would recommend?
Thanks
Abdul ':)'

As a person who gets lots of telemarketing, I'd like to say from a customers point of view, it is horrible, they phone up at your busy times and want to sell you something you don't want, you have to be quite rude to get rid of them. I tell them if they want to sell me something, post it to me, I always read my mail and is the only time I take any notice of advertising. I have bought many things from leaflets, but never over the phone.

Best Wishes

Jayne.

Telemarketing or Telesales??

I think its telesales calls you are getting. Buying over the phone is telesales, Telemarketing tend to be appointment setting, lead Gen, Attendee Gen, List Cleaning. None of my clients products or services are something you can sell over the phone.
I do understand you frustration.

Michael

P.S. Thanks for the thumbs up epiphany

no worries everyone makes the same mistake, which is fine, but then it means we are tarred with the same brush as those type of companies.

I must have posted the same time as epiphany or I would have realised you were not a nasty phone person. Epiphany's post came up first. I would never be rude to you on the phone  Unless you tried to sell me elec' services  (Only Kidding)

While I didn't see the episode, I heard of a great response to telesalespeople (credits to Seinfeld):

"Sorry, I'm busy right now. Give me your home number, and I'll call you back later this evening. Why won't you give me your home number? You mean you don't like complete strangers calling you and interrupting your evening? Well, neither do I."

I usually ask them to ring back at 5pm. We close at 3pm

I'm with Jayne - I hate this kind of intrusion.

Did you know that on average it takes 11mins to get back to what you were doing when you have been interupted by a phone call, and up to 40 mins to get back into it when you're interupted by a visit?

As I answer phones for various companies I probably get more than my fair share of these calls, especially as most of our customers ask us to refuse these calls. I'm very open to hearing about things if people send a letter / email, but not if it's interupting my day.

Personally I think there should be a move towards discouraging this kind of canvassing:
1) I don't buy / make sales appointments over the phone unless I have requested information.
2) Any junk mail with prepay envelopes gets sent back to them without whatever info they have requested therefore costing them money without the return!
3) We hang up any calls from foreign call centres - the very least they can do is employ UK people!!!

(Yes - stroppy PA in action! If we ran the world, it would be a nicer place to live!)

to stop calls from double glazing, broadband, telephone companies register here, it will be in full swing within 8 weeks. and you should receive very few calls, also in the meantime tell any companies thtacall that you are registered with the TPS, you watch how quickly they hang up.

We already are! It doesn't stop the overseas companies but it does help somewhat....

Most annoying type of call? It's got to be the pre-recorded message which tries to pretend to be a real person.... "Hi...(pause)... oh hi, it's Michael calling from Sunshine Vacations... <CLICK brrr.....>"

Hi

I have looked at your website and must say I am bit confused as to what your focus is.

You list

Strategy and Corporate Development
Business Planning and Feasibility Studies
Valuation and Commercial Due Diligence
Marketing Strategy including Market Analysis, Research and Forecasting
Technology Solutions
Change and Transformation Management
Management Development

Do you provide all of these or work with key partners?

Now re your question

We have clients 50m- >2 billion who work in the solutions we I have made bold apart from Marketing Strategy including Market Analysis, Research and Forecasting because it looks similar to what BIZAL does.

So my very simple questions are:

1: do you wish the telesales company to promote all of the above?

If yes we cannot speak further anyway due to it being a conflict of interest.

If no

Which ones of the above do you wish the company to promote and do you have a sales plan which includes telemarketing for these areas.

If yes and they are not areas that are in bold please feel free to contact us :D

If not good luck with the business and I would recommend ebonybailey as good company to start talking to.

Dave,
Yes the company offers all of these services via associates. What i am looking is for some company who can make appointments for us on a brief that we can develop with them. I ahve used companies before but have always been disappointed with the quality of the appointments - no shows..etc
