Sales Letters

I am in the process of sending our a mailshot and was wondering if anyone has a sales letter format that has worked for them.
Are there any templates around that I could use?

Whats wrong with lifting some of the text from www.avangarde.co.uk ?

The important thing would be to remember that you need to keep your message brief and consice. Ideally tell them what you can do for them and how much it could save them (not cost them).

But if you use a template you might lose a bit of sincerity. Remember to personalise the copy do you include somethign that's directly relevant to the reader.

Address to a named person. Never Dear Sir/Madam or Dear Colleague It will be binned.

And use the AIDA Mnemonic to help with structure

Attention - Grab attention
Interest - Generate interest
Desire - Make them want your product or service
Action - Make them call
