Ling Valentine of Ling's Cars is a member but she is frequently serving a ban for being one of our more 'vocal' members.

Why would you go on Dragons Den? if you had a decent idea you believed in why would you offer 50% of your business to someone? I would sell the wife first.

The only reason I see to go on it would be that some of them have the contacts to open doors for your business.

Why would you go on Dragons Den?

In Ling's case: PUBLICITY. It certainly worked for her.

Well worth going on Dragons Den for him. Hugely popular, I doubt he's complaining about giving away part of the business to work who invested.

Of course its worth going on DD if you have a viable idea. Those guys can really help get your product or service to market much, much faster than most people could ever dream of doing themselves. 50% of something big is much better than 100% of something small :)

If you don't know how to market your idea go on the den to get the dragons on board.

If like Ling you know what you are doing go on for the publicity.

I have often watched and enjoyed Dragons Den, The Apprentice and the like but do they offer a fair and accurate representation of what it is like to be a small business or entrepreneur?

Sure you get to see good and bad pitches but that is but one aspect of 'the game'
