Hi everyone,

I'm doing a bit of research to find out the best way to contact businesses and offer my freelance design services. I just wondered if any of you lovely business people could give me an insight into how you go about finding a designer for your printed materials, logos, rebranding, direct marketing, ads or even just leaflets.

• Where would you look to find a designer? (websites-which, printers, yellow pages?)
• What would you search under? (Designer? Graphic designer? Or the product you are looking to have produced?)
• Would you look at local designers or further afield? and why?
• What are the key things that would influence your choice of a designer?
• And finally how do you view advertising/promotion of your business?(ie very important, i want the best person I can afford promoting my business, or a necessary evil, I do it myself, I don't have money to spend on printed materials/ads?)

I have worked in an advertising agency for over 11 years so have lots of experience working on direct mail packs to brochures and logos to leaflets, I have just started freelancing and I am looking to work with more direct clients. Using a freelancer is more cost effective. You have my agency experience without the agency overheads.

So any help advice as to what you guys need out there would be gratefully received.

Many thanks

Nancy (bynance)
