Hi,
I've been looking at the call divert numbers you can get free, they look like mobile numbers. What are the advantages of using these instead of your mobile phone.
Thanks

Hi Jayne,
Basically it looks more professional. If a user sees your mobile number for example: 07663717448 they may think it looks amature but if you have an 0870 number it looks a lot more professional.
I can reccomend http://www.iccommunications.co.uk/ for these numbers, top quality service from him.

So it's just for show then! :D
Thank You

Hi Jayne
The 0845 and 0870 numbers are not really just for show, the 0845 is charged at local rate wherever you call it from at no extra cost to the owner of the number. The 0870 number costs the caller more and the owner of the number makes money from inbound calls and 0800 numbers are free to call but cost the owner each time they receive a call..
All of these numbers can be asigned to any landline number or mobile phone making it more convenient if you change address or if you want to attract out of town business. It helps in many cases if opting for an 0845 number to emphasise Lo-call in sales litarature as people often think they are premium rate.
I got my 0845 number for free from a company called AMG and they are really great if we need it re-assigned or answered in our absence or to handle overload. Hope that helps.
Russ
Oh one other thing, 0845 numbers can be used as fax numbers and can be received via email. very handy indeed

You can also have different numbers for different reasons So you could give one out to friends and family, one could be for sales and one could be for service so you know what kind of call it is before you answer.

I'd agree it tends to make your company look bigger / have less of a geographical bias if you use one of these numbers.
However, the biggest danger with them is probably that you can appear slightly anonymous.
I logged onto a potential supplier website the other day & could only find email & 0870 number, along with lots of stock-shot photography. I used another supplier who was a lot more personal, as the lack of info really put me off....
Just my humble opinion!

I agree! I think i'll use my mobile, then customers can call me anytime. It's anoying when cannot speak to someone straight away.
Thanks

Hi Jayne,
why don't you just use the BT call divert to your mobile. £1.75 per month, press *21* put in the number to receive the calls and now you've got your bakery calls to your mobile. I use that myself and it is most effective.
Cheers, Nigel

It's not for my bakery! Don't want to be getting sandwich orders a 10pm at night really  It was for my new business I am starting. Good idea though, thank you.

Cheers Nigel, and good wishes for the new venture.
