Direct is an API solution where the shopper never leaves your site, Direct has steep requirements which involve your own private webserver, a Secure certificate SSL and a static/fixed IP address, also, will require you to be fully PCI compliant, and the services of a developer will most likely be required.

This is what Sage says, so do I need a dedicated server then or not???
Looks like it ei

Hello Seedstotal,

I have a professional who would like to give you some advice. This isn't really my department but I can give you a number to call or if you prefer i can pass on your number.

Good luck with this.

You will not need a dedicated server. SagePay direct works just fine on a shared platform but you do need a fixed IP address, SSL certificate and a hosting platform that has been PCI approved.

As for the integration, it is relatively simple for a developer to integrate but if you go down the DIY route you will need a good working knowledge of dealing with HTTP post and response coding.

Hi,

The comments here are correct. We 'recommend' dedicated server for the use of our Direct (API) solution due to the single ownership/access that comes with it.

You are still able to use the API solution on shared servers although we obviously recommend that they are to the highest security standards available, meeting the PCI requirements that a Direct integration will involve.

Best wishes,

Joe
