Hi All,

Just wondered what your most important aspect of your business is through this recession ?

Im guessing the majority will be increasing sales and reducing costs ?

increasing sales and reducing costs should be something You try to do at all times not just in a recession right :) ? Depends on the business. My business is involved in development of products etc and from what I have witnessed in the past, similar companies get scared of the future and stop developing, just relying on existing products. Never stop developing and try to do everything better ! Stay one step ahead of the rest.

having read the message about credit control (and the deafening silence that followed) - you should be looking at making sure you get cash into your business. It's no good making a great sale to a new customer who then goes bust and doesn't pay you. Equally if you spend too much on stock you can wind up in hock to the banks.

I think business is always about doing everything as well as you can;

have a great product/offering
be easy to buy from
give great customer service
do the admin promptly and follow absolutely everything up.

No change in a recession really, except people who muddle through in good times come unstuck when things are tight.

We find the most important thing is to continue to talk to clients current and past. This gives us an insight into what they are doing and reasures them that we are still alive and thinking of them.

The number of times i have picked up work from picking up the phone.

If the name of the game is reducing costs then may i introduce myself.

I'm a firm believer in reducing costs and not your budget during this time of hardship. Thus being part of the UK's leading cost cutting organisations I think you could benefit from my advice.

I'm open to provide you with a possible solution. During these hard times I think everyone could do with looking at the areas which could do with a bit of a saving. If you believe this is true too then get in touch with me and I'll provide you with a free review/audit of your current expenses on your Gas, Electric, Telecommunications, Waste and water. I have at my disposal a team of experts in all of these fields who are available to provide you with such an audit at not cost. You can then see clearly why a company like mine exists.

I'm saving businesses on average 20-50% on their expenses and all it takes is half hour of your time to introduce ourselves to you and to gather the relevant bill information. We work purely ona shared savings benefit so if we are unable to identify savings for you, then we dont get paid. Once we have carried out our analysis we propose a solution to you which identifies the supplier we recommend with the proposed rates and the savings identified which is when you make the decision to progress with our advice.

30 minutes. Free audit. Average 20% saving.

Efficient and quick. No Hasstle. We do the hard work for you using our industry knowledge and experience.

All the best.

Hi Anthony

You can save money by just reducing the need to travel to see clients by using an audio, web conferencing tool. Of course I will recommend DigitalMeeting but in all fairness, it's not just money you will save. The time you would have spent travelling could be utilised to contact your customers like the Drill Masters.

You can save 30-50% of your costs by outsourcing some of your activities in Georgia.

Located at the dividing line between Europe and Asia, Georgia is a country with one of the fastest growing Economy over the world. Average level of education in Georgia is quite high, especially when it comes to knowledge of foreign languages. Because of specificity of Georgian language, Georgians have much better pronunciation of European languages than other outsourcing providers from Asia. (And costs are the same.)

Using outsourcing services, you can leave the most interesting part of your business up to you.

I can advise and offer following costumer care services:

`Call Center
`Data processing
`Arrangement of Emails

Information support
Troubleshooting for Products and Services

Managing cashflow in a recession is of primary importance too many companies, quite a few will go under even though they are profitable if their cashflow is bad.

I suppose the best overall answer would be everything has to be looked at.
