View Full Version : Buying a laptop

I need to buy a laptop for a client. I always recommend Dell because of the pricing but they are very anti-Dell( probably experienced one of their call centres)
I've been asked to get a non-dell lightweight laptop at a good price. Doesn't have to be a great spec. Perhaps a Sony or preferably IBM.
Any tips on the best place to get them? New, not refurbed. and must be branded.
Thanks

There's really not enough margin in this for me to mess about looking at specs, etc for the client.
If anyone here can supply me with a laptop, new, ideally IBM, Vaio or HP that is lightweight and as close to the £500 mark as possible then let me know and I'll probably buy two.
Email djackson [at] keyone dot co.uk
Need this today if poss.

Just incase anyone is interested:
After the inital good start, AKITOnline dissapeared. A sales bloke called me up, took the spec I was after. I also asked him to quote for some expensive server software I was about to buy elsehwere. This was Friday afternoon. He said he'd have me some info within an hour or two. And guess what? Never heard from them again.
Michael, you might want to have a word with Stephen.
Hemal (SNS IT) was very helpul on email though. All is sorted now.
Thanks

No problem Stephen, these things happen sometimes. Glad to hear you're dealing with it though.
