Dear All:

We launched our new software product - CortegeŽ - about four months ago. Up to now, we have devoted most of our energies to selling CortegeŽ directly at business networking functions, etc. The software demonstrates very well and we have enjoyed high conversion rates.

However, to increase our reach, we have now made the software available for purchase on-line. We know the software is ready, but is our site ready for prime time?

The is our first attempt at online sales, and we'd really apprecaite comments on any aspect of our site from those with more experience. Please do tell what you like as well as dislike so we get some overall feeling as to where we are.

Our URL is https://www.personal-software.com.

Thanks, Peter

That's a great site you have Peter. Everything is a laid out in a sensible manner.

The only one small thing I would say is that when we click 'Purchase' it goes straight to this page (https://www.personal-software.com./Default.asp?PId=https://www.personal-software.com./Purchase.asp) with a lengthyish form. There is no mention of price etc. Might be better if goes to the 'Product details' page first and then prominent links added to that to encourage people to initiate the purchase procedure.

Other than that is looks like a very slick operation you are running.

Nice website - easy enough to use and read.

Nice product too - a good simple CRM tool - you might consider making a web-based version - free from outlook.

Advice
For the demo, you should consider adding a flash-based walk-through or demo of key features and functions - look for the not-so-techie business/marketing people.

Looks good - the site and the product that is.

I'd agree very stringly with the comments made by Azam.com

One problem though, i hope you're not planning to get many visits from people using search engines?

Your entire site is https/ssl protected. Search engines wont crawl this very well if at all. Consider making the site unprotected and only protecting the pages that need it, such as payment pages.

Peter,

I visited only the home page, but the site looks very good to me. I spotted two or three grammatical errors, but they are minor and do not distract the reader (I'm unduly picky anyway). The layout is clear, and you focus on your main messages. Excellent.

Hi BrightSpark

Back to Duane's point about being found on search engines - it may help to imagine or do some research on the type of phrases that people may use to find a useful service like yours.

Obviously, this is a new concept, so people may be typing in more generic phrases, such as 'business networking' to get advice on this field. If your site comes up for this kind of phrase, your visitor may well be interested in your product.

It may be a good idea to brainstorn these phrases and work them in to key elements of your page, such as main text, headings and page titles.

People may hear of the name Cortege and find you through a search engine. However, they are unlikely to type anything like 'transforming your outlook'. Incorporating the phrase business networking may help pick up extra visitors.

I am talking purely from a search engine point of view and of course it is about finding a balance between pleasing humans as well as the search engines. The site looks great by the way!
