Hi
Recently posted a project on Scriptlance and I have a really interesting developer with a script that he can adapt and install to completely change one of my sites. However, I need to move hosts to accomodate the script, it requires ASP with MS SQL
Can anyone help and suggest good hosts, I do not want to pay the earth for the host yet I need a reliable and easily contactable one that is preferably located in the UK
Cheers

This isn't a recommendation, (since the only one i'd recommend is www.dreamhost.com and they are php rather than ASP), but if you go to http://www.webhostingtalk.com/ and search their forums, you'll find what you're looking for and see the all important feedback people have given about particular companies.

Have a look at our hosts who do this and the prices are very good (as is the service)
We have a dedicated service from them hosted in the UK after a lot of research about what was on the market.

Also, I used to host with http://www.netcetera.co.uk/ who were very good. (I like smaller companies as when you call up you get to talk to the owner who can get things moving rather than a call centre.)

My company offers this, have a look at www.keyone.co.uk. We're not the cheapest but you certainly do get what you pay for.
These are our own servers, not leased or rented and they are plugged straight into the Level 3 (Tier 1) backbone, with avg ping response of 15ms throughout the UK.
I can give you a 20% discount on the price shown on the site.

I am not the most experience person with webhosts these days but have used www.youreasyhost.net in the past with minimal problems. The one or two I have encountered I have reported via their website on low priority and never had to wait more than an hour for it to be resolved and normally it is within minutes.

Like webit I have had very good experiences with http://www.netcetera.co.uk/ I would certainly recommend them for Windows hosting

I know that a few people on here dont rate them but I have had my site with www.oneandone.co.uk for over 2 years now and I have never had any problems or downtime with them.
But they are a bit on the expensive side too but you do get a lot of extras thrown in.

a bit expensive and absolutley useless if you ever want to take your business away from them at any point. Avoid 1&1 like the plague! That's my opinion anyway!

Thats what I found with a company I do some work for. Trying to get DNS swopped out was like getting bllod from a stone.
