Hi Guys,

I have just became the franchisor for the North of England (Middlesbrough to the Scottish Border) for an up and coming sandwich franchise.

I did not put this query in the franchise section, as i felt it was a more general marketing related question, rather than asking something specific about franchising.

Do any of you have any ideas as to how I can raise public awareness of immediate franchise opportunities being available?

The usual means are already in place; franchising webpage, the company's own webpage, etc etc - but any suggestions for how I could take it a step further, and perhaps target my territory specifically?

Cheers in advance:)

The only way i can think of is putting an advert in the particular areas local newspaper.

Perhaps a local radio Ad.

Franchise section of Ebay?

True but would anyone pay serious money for a business advertised on ebay?

Most businesses there for sale have the same sales technique - "im emigrating" or due to "ill health." Which may be true but....!

My personal opinion is selling a business via ebay doesnt do much for its credability, unless it's one of those "how to" businesses on a cd
which is more suited for ebay.

A member here called Admagic is very good in marketing and may come up with some sales techniques you're looking for.

You could try businessforsale.com I have sold a business on there in the past and got quite a few genuine enquiries. You have to register and pay to advertise so tends to be taken seriously.

How about a press release for the local papers? Talk up the company, refer to success stories elsewhere, and say how it's such a good thing that it's now available in your area.

Are there any large offices or factories in your area where the staff regularly buy sarnies for lunch? Maybe you could leaflet them as they leave work, there's bound to be a few at least who are fed up of their jobs and might like to strike out on their own.

You can start freelancing if you are confident about your language skills. With work from every field being outsourced over the Internet, there are countless opportunities for everyone in the freelancing industry.
