I have an orange mobile broadband dongle. Just asked them what the rates are abroad - and it's in new mortgage territory!
Can anyone suggest a provider that I can also use abroad without being totally ripped off?

at most major airports they sell payg ones for abroad (from abroad provider) thats what i did.
btw how much was it gunna b?
I travel three or four times a year and being self employed I cannot afford to just ignore my email enquiries so I have to take a laptop. Some hotels offer wireless broadband as a free service but the rates charged when you have to pay are generally excessive. It's a constant problem.
I was away in Spain at the beginning of the month for eight days and I just used the local Internet cafe. This was also expensive at 2 Euros for the first half hour and 1 Euro for each subsequent 15m.
This is an ongoing problem for me so I would be interested to hear what others are doing.
Capella ITA sent me this list of locations of free wi-fi hotspots across Europe

Hi, thatnks for that - I'd concluded I'd be better buying one abroad!
The one I have is an orange one - on monthly contract - they wanted £8 / MB
I had visions of coming back to a 4 figure bill!
