We want to become a Credit Card Seller!

Hi Guys,

We have a consumer credit licence, allowing us to sell loans / credit cards etc. We shockingly spent nearly 12 months getting the licence and £1000's of pounds yet have yet to ultilise it!

We have lots of people we know just through personal friends and connections who sell credit cards and other forms of direct sales e.g. home fuel etc who we know would be willing to work for us.

We often see sellers at airports, shopping malls, service stations etc stopping you as you walk past and this is an avenue we would like to pursue.

However, does anyone have any suggestions on who to contact within credit card companies i.e. which department etc If you look at most credit card company websites the contact numbers seem to all related to existing or new customers and I doubt the call centre people would be able to direct me as I am sure it would be out of their remit.

Has anyone ever had any experience of this market in the past or can anyone offer any guidance to the best avenue of entry? I have asked our friends today also who are hopefully going to come back to me soon!

Indeed if anyone else can think of any ideas on how best to ultilize our Credit Licence, please help!

Hi Lee,

you'd need to get hold of the person who owns the sales target for credit cards and loans, which in most FS organisations will be the credit card or personal loan product manager or comms manager. They'll sit in Marketing.
In addition to their sales target they will also have a target cost-per-acquisition, so if you can show them you can deliver sales for less than this then they'll probably be delighted to speak with you. However, they will also want to see some evidence than you can do it - i.e. they'll probably want to know quite a bit about your operation and how you'll deliver.
