I am in the process of building my own business website with microsoft small business, however although it allows you to create a business email ie. info@xxxxxxxxxxx.co.uk I am having problems accessing this and in particular would like to route it to outlook. I have tried to use mircosoft connect with out success, any idea's would be greatly appreciated.

Look at the Microsoft help on the site (sorry, no experience with the site you're using)... and check on Email POP/SMTP as this is probably where you'll find the setup info for Outlook.

Just because you create an email address in the small business software doesn't means that the actual account exists. You need to contact your host to setup a new email account and then you should be able to access your email thorugh outlook.
Another way is to set up a redirect so that info@xxxx.com is sent to youremail@someprovider.com.

Also an email address is certain to be harvested and within days (or maybe even hours) you will be getting offers of ***** enlargement, dubious pills, and other 'offers'...
Use a contact form with captcha and hide your email.

According to the Electronic Commerce (EC Directive) Regulations 2002
The email address of the service provider must be given. It is not sufficient to include a 'contact us' form without also providing an email address.

Yes but there are many ways of displying the email address to the visitor and hiding it from the scrapers.

Well I didn't know that. Usual poorly thought out legislation...
Wonder where the email address for this forum is... :-)

I do not think it is poorly thought out, a lot of people like to keep a copy of the sent mail in their email client.

Outlook can be setup in mins if the servers exist. Do you know which version of outlook you are using? IS it outlook express or 2003 ? I can post you the instructions.

Yes, but how do I find that email in the spam?
A properly thought out contact form will have the option to copy the message to the originator...
Incidentally, we have created a number of websites and we have found that a contact form generates more responses that just an email address, even a clickable one.
